Welcome to Thornbury Community Garden
(Not part of Turnberries!)
Now you're here why don't you have a look around?
The Garden's Main Entrance On Upper Bath Road Is
Open Everyday During Daylight Hours!
The NEW Thornbury Community Garden was created because South Gloucestershire Council were redeveloping the site the original Garden was on, forcing it to close in January 2007. Due to public demand the Council offered the Garden Group another derelict plot of land to create a new garden for the benefit of the community. We accepted their offer and have spent the last 3 years creating and constructing a new Garden to enhance Thornbury. The photos on this site show the derelict site as it was in 2005 when the idea of the new Garden was initially conceived, and all progress since then.
The new Garden opened to the public on 15 September 2008 and is accessible to all including wheelchair users. Originally access was only possible via Turnberrie's entrance but we constructed a second direct entrance to the Garden on Upper Bath Road which is now open daily during daylight hours. Everyone is welcome!
The Garden, which can be made fully secure, is available for private functions so if you would like to hold an event in the Garden, please contact us.
This website is dedicated to the NEW Garden only and hence all information given on this website will relate to the new Garden. However, all information and photos of the original Community Garden (formerly Siblands Sensory Garden) are still available. To view, please select the Original Garden Archive button in the Index on the left at the top of this page.
Happy browsing!!!
